VAP_ Visit Artist Program, Fonderia 20.9, Verona, 2025

resonare is part of the broader project Between Memory, Place and Matter by Sara Palmieri, developed in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Riga and supported by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture. As one of the project partners, Fonderia 20.9 contributes to this international program, which will culminate in a major exhibition at the ISSP Gallery in Riga in 2025.

Led by Italian artist Sara Palmieri, Between Memory, Place and Matter explores themes of memory, place, and the identity of territory through photography, installation, and interdisciplinary practices.

As part of the Italian program, we hosted a 4-day residency and public event in Verona from May 7–10, 2025. Alongside Palmieri, in this VAP like program, we’ll welcome invited artists Flaminia Celata, Bärbel Praun, and Claire Laude for an immersive and participatory program of research, artistic exchange, and a final pop-up exhibition in our gallery.

Over the course of a four-day have engaged with the nearby former Cavadini bell foundry as a conceptual site, reactivating its memory within the gallery space through sound, photography, video, and installation.

On the final day, May 10, 2025, the results of this exchange will be presented to the public through an open showcase at Fonderia 20.9.

Residency from May 7 to May 9, 2025

Exhibition’s opening 09 May 2025
